Favourite Reverb

OK guys. It has been a long time since my last post but here it goes.

I have been doing quite some tests recently about 'finding' the Reverb that suits my needs (mostly Film Scoring stuff - with some electronics too). So I've been listening to many demos from Audio Ease Altiverb, ArtsAcoustics Reverb, Waves IR-1 and 2C Aether.

Well it really is a hard procedure because - one might say - all are reverbs! Well it's not that simple. There are different kinds of Reverbs. Algorithmic, Impulse Responses etc...

In my personal opinion I believe that the two winners (for me) are Waves IR-1 and Altiverb. The Impulse Responses are outstanding and seems to add more depth and colour to the orchestral/film music I am after.

So, what is you preferable Reverb type/plugin and why?

Summer and mid-Autumn 2010 Round Up

It has been quite a busy Summer / mid-Autumn. Initially the relocation from the United Kingdom to Cyprus , the completion of new projects as well as the development of more exciting and important contacts!

New Projects include:

'Frogging' [Game Application for Samsung and iPhone platforms] : Original score

'Daughters of Rome'
[a StormVid / StormFilms Production]: Original score

'30 cues for Corporate Video commercial' [developed by WebTalkingHeads.com]: Original score

The most exciting news about this period is the build of the Brand NEW Studio Computer. More details on this will follow on a dedicated post in which pictures and video will be included.

Additionally more projects are lined up for the rest of 2010 but more details will follow soon since they are still under the first stages of production.

Kontakt 4.1 - Background Loading

I recently stumble upon Kontakt 4.1 and its' exciting new feature called 'Background Loading'. This new feature allows you to load instruments in the background. This means, when you load up a sound from the Kontakt library (or any other 3rd party library), you no longer have to wait for the full sound to load!

At a first glance this may seem a minor improvement, but in a world full of huge software libraries this is a great advantage for Kontakt users. Some libraries may takes minutes to load, depending on the size. Big libraries like Abbey Roads Drums are notorious for taking a long time to load up.

Check the video below and see it yourself...

Always Say Aishiteru

An independent film written and directed by Casey Regan and produced by John Hollahan. Music composed by Christos Andreou.

Short Synopsis

The story of Akira, a young member of the Kato Yakuza, who, after stealing money from Boss Hiroshi, tries to hop the next train out of town, away from his crimes and worried girlfriend Ami. While there, he meets an interesting and enigmatic stranger whose offhanded conversations seems to have a lot to do with Akira's own questionable loyalties.
